Honestly, I have no idea how this cartoon could possibly be construed as hilarious in any way. Is there an actual joke here? I guess we're supposed to think Bill is lazy, but his method of fixing tangled wire seems perfectly reasonable to me.
Couldn't you also construe this as a metaphor on the concept of a family? For Bill, once his life becomes hopelessly entangled with other people's lives, he will simply cut them all off and start over. Actually, they'd better make sure he didn't already leave with the car.
This is a blog about comic strips that combines a healthy dose of Internet snark with hopefully cogent and in-depth analysis. We'll see how that last part goes.
