Well, yes, but I took "television today" to mean "television of this era as compared to the era in which I, Grouchy Old Dude, grew up in." The argument being that television of Grouchy Old Dude's generation was superior to the television of my generation. Which is just complete and utter bullshit.
In general, people who complain about how there's no good television shows anymore annoy me, because there are lots of good TV shows. They just don't watch them. All of the shows I listed were began within the last ten years, which counts as "today" by my standards.
Oh, I fully agree with you. Just found it odd that 4 out of the 9 were no longer produced. Could always add Breaking Bad, Burn Notice, How I Met Your Mother, or Kings. ;)
Only 5 of those are still on the air ...

Also, "yesterday" means "1983."
